The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS), in collaboration with NASA and the British Antarctic Survey, is developing the Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica, a map of Antarctica using satellite imagery.

The map uses nearly 1,100 Landsat satellite scenes digitally woven together to create a single, seamless, cloud-free image of the Antarctic continent. The National Science Foundation is funding the project.
