Shin Satellite will launch a video-on-demand service in Australia, the company announced.

The operator is teaming up with ReelTime Media, an Australian broadband TV company, to offer a variety of video content via Shin Satellite’s IPStar broadband satellite. An IPStar user terminal will be connected to ReelTime’s set-top box, and the contents will be downloaded.

The service will be available in late March from selected IPStar service providers, and Shin Satellite hopes a successful deployment in Australia will lead to further implementations and expansion into other markets in the region.
