Artel Signs For $70 Million For Satellite Services To U.S. Central Command

      Artel, a global provider of information technology and managed network services, announced Feb. 21 that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has competitively awarded the company two task orders to provide satellite services to the U.S. Central Command in support of U.S. warfighters in the Middle East and Southwest Asia.

      The awards are worth more than $70 million if three, one-year option periods are fully exercised. DoD originally awarded Artel, one of three prime contractors, the DSTS-G contract in 2001.
