SATELLITE 2007 Conference And Exhibition Opens To Record Attendance
Wednesday, February 21st 2007 — SATELLITE 2007, the largest and most targeted conference and exhibition for satellite-enabled communications, opened on Tuesday February 20, 2007, to record-setting attendance. More than 8,000 people registered for the conference and exhibition, which is an increase of 10% over the 2006 event.
“The significant increase in attendance at this year’s conference proves the pivotal role SATELLITE 2007 plays in delivering information, solutions, and content to those interested in satellite-enabled communications,” said Joe Rosone, Access Intelligence Satellite Group vice president and publisher. “There’s a lot of excitement on the show floor and within the satellite community. With the announcement of the proposed merger of XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio earlier this week, SATELLITE 2007 has provided a forum for the leaders in the global satellite marketplace to discuss how this development and other announcements affect our future.
SATELLITE 2007 presents attendees with the opportunity to attend 45 panel discussions targeting satellite technology end-users within the enterprise, military, and broadcast markets during this four-day annual conference. Conference sessions address topics including The Future of DoD SATCOM Communications, Mobile TV, IP Networking over Satellite, Space Situational Awareness, Business Continuity via Satellite, and Commercial, Government and Enterprise Opportunities in emerging markets such as the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
SATELLITE 2007 features an exhibit show floor comprised of more than 280 leading manufacturers, integrators, and suppliers including Boeing, General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, Intelsat, Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems, and Orbital Sciences Corporation. Visitors to the exhibit hall will be able to get up-close and hands-on with hundreds of new products, and innovative technology solutions.
In addition, the event features more than 11 hours of networking events, where attendees can meet industry leaders and connect with colleagues.
SATELLITE 2007 continues through February 22 at the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW, Washington, D.C. For more information on exhibiting or to register, visit www.SATELLITE2007.com.
