Intelsat has appointed William Shernit as president of its subsidiary, Intelsat General, Intelsat announced Feb. 14.

Intelsat General provides communications systems primarily to military and civilian government customers.

Shernit has previous experience with the Central Intelligence Agency, where he was responsible for a broad range of technical systems and advanced technologies, and as president of information technology for BAE Systems Inc.
