Sea Launch Delays Launch Another Day

Sea Launch has set the launch of the NSS-8 communications satellite for SES New Skies for Jan. 27, Sea Launch announced.

 The 37-minute launch window remains as previously planned, opening at 6:22 p.m. EDT. For a second day, launch was delayed due to sea conditions at the launch site. Sea Launch performs its missions from a floating platform at the equator.

NSS-8 is a Boeing 702 spacecraft carrying 56 C-band and 36 Ku-band transponders. The spacecraft will replace NSS-703 at 57° East and provide corporate communications, government and military networks, broadband Internet services and broadcast applications to countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Indian subcontinent.
