Eagle Broadband Inc. has received a contract to provide an emergency communications system to Fort Bend County, Texas, the company announced. Eagle will provide its SatMax system and also pre-wire the country’s emergency operations center.

The SatMax system enhances the coverage of Iridium satellite phones and is intended to ensure constant satellite communication for disaster recovery personnel in the event that land-based communications are not working. Each county in Texas is required by state mandate to coordinate public service in a disaster with effective emergency response.
