SAIC Grabs $95 Million NATO BMD Contract

      Science Applications International Corp. [SAI] signed a firm-fixed-price contract to support integration of the NATO Active Layered Theater Ballistic Missile Defense (ALTBMD) capability.

      The contract signing ceremony took place at the ALTBMD Exhibition at the 2006 NATO Summit in Riga, Latvia.

      This contract establishes a six-year period of performance with an estimated value of $95 million. The signing involved retired Brig. Gen. Michel Billard, program manager of the NATO ALTBMD Program Office, and Beverly Seay, SAIC senior vice president and general manager of the analysis, simulation, systems engineering and training business unit.

      Members of SAIC’s team are drawn from six NATO nations including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Team members include: Datamat SpA, Diehl BGT Defence GmbH & Co. KG, EADS Astrium, Industrieanlagen-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH (IABG), QinetiQ, Raytheon Co., Thales, ThalesRaytheonSystems, and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO).
