Cerona Networks Corp., a Maryland-based manufacturer of satellite communications ground equipment, has added John Baras to its board, the company announced Oct. 27.

Baras holds a joint appointment as professor in the University of Maryland’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Institute for Systems Research (ISR). Baras also is the Lockheed Martin chair in Systems Engineering and the founding and current director of the Maryland Hybrid Networks Center (HyNet) a NASA research partnership center.
