Com Dev, a Canadian manufacturer of space hardware subsystems, delivered a key component for an international satellite designed to search for water in deep space, the company announced Oct. 13. The $10 million local oscillator source unit was delivered to the Netherlands Institute for Space Research for integration into the European Space Agency’s Herschel Space Observatory. The satellite is scheduled to be launched in 2008.
