Arqiva has secured a deal with City Screen Limited, owners of Picturehouse cinemas, to install a live digital cinema network in all Picturehouse franchises across the United Kingdom.

The deal will enable live screenings of major entertainment and sporting events in standard and high definition (HD) via Arqiva’s digital satellite network. Arqiva will install and maintain the permanent satellite infrastructure at the Picturehouse cinemas.

The move follows the Odeon’s screening live World Cup 2006 matches in selected cinemas over the summer.
