GTXC, a personal-location services company, announced Oct. 9 its signing of a licensing agreement to provide miniaturized personal-tracking devices to governmental security agencies and consumer maritime enthusiasts.

Among products offered will be an assisted global positioning service (A-GPS) tracking device enclosed in a buoyant, waterproof, shockproof, clip-on housing for real-time tracking of government employees. The device uses cellular transmission abilities and A-GPS technology, an optimized, high-powered enhancement of standard GPS capable of advanced location-finding abilities. A similar device, intended to maximize safety for recreational boaters and water enthusiasts, will be made available to the consumer maritime market.
