Norsat International Inc. announced Oct. 6 that it won two contracts by the U.S. Army Central Command. Norsat will supply Newslink portable satellite terminals, audio-video kits, spares, training and maintenance services to support the expansion of the U.S. Army’s Digital Video and Imagery Distribution System. The program was launched in April 2004 to provide local U.S. media outlets with access to frontline video footage from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Under the contract, valued at more than $1.7 million, all deliveries are scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter.
