Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications Co. has enhanced its high-speed data product Thuraya DSL to increase the speed of the offering.

The terminal’s preliminary design was approved in May, and Thuraya plans to unveil the new product in the first quarter of 2008. Thuraya plans more consultations with manufacturer Hughes Network Systems before launch.

Thuraya’s current plug-and-play terminal, launched in 2005, is widely used in the oil and gas, media and non-governmental organization sectors.
