NDS won a contract from Romtelecom, Romania’s largest telco, to provide a system for a new direct-to-home (DTH) platform, NDS announced.

Romtelecom will deploy a full end-to-end system that includes NDS’s Videoguard conditional access, Mediahighway middleware and an electronic program guide on the company’s new DTH satellite TV platform.

OTE International, a subsidiary of OTE Greece, has a 54-percent stake in Romtelecom, with the remaining 46 percent held by the Romanian government.
