NASA Awards Contract For Mars Rover Ka-Band Antennas

Atlanta-based EMS Technologies announced Oct. 3 that its EMS Defense & Space Systems won a $1.2 million contract from NASA to provide Ka-band antennas for the Mars Science Laboratory’s exploratory rover.

The Mars Science Laboratory is slated for launch in September 2009. The Ka-band antennas are for the terminal descent sensor which will guide the laboratory to the surface of Mars.
