Agents from Iran’s state security force last week climbed rooftops in western Tehran to confiscate satellite dishes, which are banned in Islamic Iran.

According to a report by Iran Focus news service, uniformed agents scaled rooftops throughout Tehran’s Kaj District Sept. 26 in order to remove dozens of satellite dishes, which have been formally banned by the Islamic Republic since 1995.

The crackdown on satellite dishes were assumedly prompted by broadcasts from Iranian opposition groups whose television programs reportedly have a large audience in Iran.
