Harris Corp. announced its first U.S. sale of Intraplex Netxpress, a managed platform for the transport of audio-over-Internet Protocol (IP), to Worldspace Inc., of Silver Spring, Md.

In a Sept. 19 statement, Harris announced Worldspace will install six Netxpress platforms at four of its uplink locations: Silver Spring, London, Singapore, and Bangalore, India.

The system, which consolidates audio transport and data communications over a single multi-protocol label switching network, is scheduled to launch by late 2006. The Walisko Group will assist with systems integration.
