The Metropolitan Opera and Sirius Satellite Radio announced Sept. 20 that they signed a multiyear agreement to air Metropolitan Opera Radio.

Debuting Sept. 25, the channel will feature hundreds of live performances throughout the Metropolitan’s entire season, plus archival performances from throughout its 75-year history.

The programming will debut on Sirius channel 85 with a live broadcast of the Met’s opening-night gala performance of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.
