Artel, Inc., a global provider of information technology and managed network services, announced nine signed but previously unannounced contracts valued at approximately $100 million.

According to a Sept. 18 statement, the company has contracts dating from January 2006 in a combination of exercised options on previous awards and new task orders for the Department of Defense. The orders were competitively awarded under a DISA Defense Information Systems Network Satellite Transmission Services-Global (DSTS-G) contract to obtain global fixed satellite service bandwidth and related satellite-based services and applications.

DISA awarded Artel, one of three prime contractors, the DSTS-G contract in February 2001.
