Ondas Media has awarded a contract to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Institute (FHG) in Germany to develop the core system for Ondas’ planned satellite radio offering in Europe, the company announced Sept. 13.

Under the “multimillion euro” contract, FHG will develop the core radio frequency and waveform approach for the system.

Ondas plans to launch satellite radio services across Europe in 2009.
