Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced Sept. 7 that its Orlando, Fla.-based subsidiary, Comtech Systems Inc., has received a $5.5 million order from General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, for troposcatter modem upgrade kits to enahnce 36 AN/TRC-170 troposcatter terminals for the U.S. Army.
In addition to upgrading terminals, the state-of-the-art modem upgrade kits also include automatic power control, allowing for lower transmitted power when communication channel conditions permit, thereby reducing risk of unfriendly intercept or interference with other communications.
