Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced Aug. 29 that its Germantown, Md.-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., received orders valued at $4.3 million under its Movement Tracking System contract with the U.S. Army.

The orders, which support the Army’s efforts to monitor the movement of friendly forces, include Comtech’s next-generation MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers with embedded radio-frequency identification (RFID) and secure global-positioning system (GPS) capabilities, along with ruggedized and control station computers, installation kits and support services.

The contract carries a maximum value of $418.2 million for Comtech, and the most recent order brings the value of the deal to date to $324.2 million.
