The U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) deployed its newest geospatial intelligence mobile system Aug. 28 in support of Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) preparations for Hurricane Ernesto, NGA announced.

The Domestic Mobile Integrated Geospatial-Intelligence System (DMIGS) is a self-contained, custom-built vehicle for NGA analysts to drive to a crisis location and provide on- the-spot geospatial intelligence analysis and products.

Developed with Pierce Manufacturing and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, the mobile system was tailored by NGA to enable communication and data transfer between itself and various NGA locations during homeland-security missions including response to natural disasters or other catastrophic events.
