Comtech To Provide Equipement For Iraqi Army, Security Forces
Comtech Telecommunications received a contract to supply satellite-based position and location equipment to the Iraqi Army and security forces, the company announced.
Under the $1.7 million contract, Comtech’s Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., will supply the company’s Quick Deploy Satellite System, training and technical support to the First Marine Expeditionary Force. The system includes a mobile satellite transceiver, embedded GPS, in-vehicle computers and a satellite network infrastructure to provide communications-on-the-move capabilities to mobile forces.
The equipment will be used as part of a plan to provide satellite-based position and location reporting capabilities for the Iraqi forces.
