Harris Corp. has secured a five-year supplier agreement to supply digital microwave radios for backhaul and access applications in Africa for mobile phone operator MTN Group Harris announced Aug. 15.

Harris will supply its Truepoint digital microwave radios, which support traditional TDM and Ethernet traffic to enable legacy and next-generation applications to run in parallel.

Harris previously has collaborated with MTN throughout Africa, including projects in Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia and Nigeria, where Harris helped to design and construct one of Africa’s backbone networks, the Y’ellobahn.
