Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors has joined Harris Corp. as a teammate in the competition to develop the next-generation Advanced Extremely High
Frequency (AEHF) Navy Multiband Terminal, Harris announced Aug. 7.
The program combines purchases for as many as 300 terminal systems for the U.S. Navy and the governments of Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
The U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command plans to award a contract in June for the design, development, integration, test and production phase of the program. The potential value of the program could exceed more than $1.4 billion by 2015, Harris said.
