Northrop Grumman Corp. announced July 31 it completed range tests for its downlink phased array antenna for the Advanced Extremely High Frequency military satellite communications payload. The antennas will send signals to ground terminals, and the test demonstrated the antenna’s coverage performance in excess of requirements, Northrop Grumman said.

Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for the program and will build three satellites for the U.S. Department of Defense.
