Spacenet Inc. hired Andreas Georghiou as its CEO effective August 1, Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced. Georghiou has more than 25 years of satellite communications experience and previously served as chief commercial officer for SES Americom.

Glenn Katz, Spacenet’s COO and acting CEO, will assume the new role of president and manage Spacenet’s sales activities and day-to-day operations once Georghiou joins the company.
