The U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center awarded Globecomm Systems Inc. a contract to provide portable satellite communications terminals, Globecomm announced July 19.

Globecomm was one of five companies to receive the five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, which carries a maximum total value of $30.6 million. The companies will compete under the terms and conditions of the contract, which could run through July 2011.
