XM Satellite Radio named Steve Cook executive vice president of automotive, a position created as part of a restructuring the company’s marketing operations, XM announced July 13. Cook will focus on XM’s automotive strategic partnerships, which includes General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai and Nissan.

My-Chau Nguyen, formerly from Sprint Nextel Communications, also will join XM as senior vice president of marking, planning and research. Sean Connolly, formerly with Intel Corp., will become XM’s vice president of brand management and media. Nguyen and Connolly will work under a chief marketing officer who will be appointed in the coming months.
