Globecomm Systems Inc. received a contract from NATO to provide a GPS-based friendly force tracking system, Globecomm announced July 19.

Under the $7.8 million contract, Globecomm and subcontractor EMS Technologies will provide a system that combines EMS’s Encompass PDT-100 system with Insite Technologies software for monitoring, command and control of deployed forces.

Separately, Globecomm Systems received a $1 million contract from an unnamed telecommunications company to design, test and install a 9.3-meter antenna and related subsystems. The gateway will support telephony, IP-based data traffic and digital television reception.
