Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) received a contract from Echostar Communications Corp. to build a satellite based on the 1300 series platform, SS/L announced June 30. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SS/L previously has manufactured four satellites for Echostar and is building Echostar 11, which is scheduled to be launched in 2007.
