Skylife, the Korean satellite pay-TV operator, has announced a deal with Rainbow HD Holdings to bring high-definition (HD) programming to Korea.

According to the terms of the agreement, Rainbow HD will provide Skylife with 368 hours of programming culled from its Voom HD Networks suite of HD channels throughout the next two years. A daily two-hour block of programming will feature five Voom HD network brands — Ultra HD, Rush HD, Equator HD, Gameplay HD and Monsters HD.

The blocks will begin airing on SkyHD in the third quarter and have the potential to be seen in both HD and standard-definition by nearly 2 million households throughout Korea.
