The Carnegie Institution’s Department of Global Ecology signed a one-year agreement with Imageone, a Japanese satellite imaging company, to train an Imageone engineer on ecological remote sensing and analysis techniques. In return, Imageone will provide funding to Carnegie for the project and a new technician.

The agreement, which will go into effect in September, also will provide for network and collaboration between the two companies. Carnegie also will receive compensation for the newly hired technician as well as computing resources, field travel and publication costs.
