Space tourism company Space Adventures Ltd. will acquire California-based Space Launch Corp., giving Space Adventures a technology development capability and access to space system intellectual property, the company announced May 30.

Space Adventures offers customers rides to the International Space Station, zero gravity flights and space training packages as well as selling rides on future suborbital spacecraft. “While Space Adventures will remain focused on the marketing of spaceflights as a space travel company, the acquisition of Space Launch will enhance our access to an in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge aerospace technology,” Eric Anderson, president and CEO of Space Adventures, said in a statement.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Space Launch CEO Jacob Lopata will retain his title and position.
