Inmarsat has appointed Kathleen Flaherty as an additional independent non-executive director. She joins the board of Inmarsat plc, and will be a member of the Remuneration Committee. Inmarsat already has four existing independent non-executive directors on its board.

Flaherty retired as chief marketing officer of AT&T in December, a position she had held since June 2004. Previously, she was president and COO of Winstar International from 1999 through 2001, and senior vice president of Global Product Architecture for MCI Communications Inc. from 1997 through 1998.
