Tandberg Television Introduces New SNG product

Tandberg Television announced it launched a high-definition (HD) digital satellite and electronic newsgathering solution Company executives claim that its new offering provides news gatherers bandwidth savings of up to 50 percent. Likewise, the company’s RX1290 multi-format decoder enables news gatherers to migrate to HD using efficient means of transmissions. This tackles the problems associated with the high bandwidth requirements of MPEG-2 HD, which often increases transponder costs and necessitates upgrades to expensive parts of an news gatherer’s truck.
