The Astra 1KR has been integrated into the fairing of its Atlas 5 rocket and is ready for its scheduled April 20 launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., SES Astra announced.

The satellite, based on a Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems A2100 AXS platform, is being launched by International Launch Services. The launch window opens at 4:27 p.m. EDT and extends until 7:17 p.m. EDT.

Astra 1KR will be the eighth satellite located at SES Astra’s orbital position at 19.2 degrees East. The satellite carries 32 Ku-band transponders and will provide distribution of direct-to-home broadcast services across Europe, replacing Astra 1B and Astra 1C.
