The JCSAT-9 telecommunications satellite, designed and built by Lockheed Martin for Japan’s JSAT Corp., is on track for an April 12 launch aboard a Zenit 3-SL rocket, Sea Launch announced. The mission is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EDT. JCSAT-9 is a hybrid satellite that features 20 Ku-band channels and 20 C-band channels. The satellite also is equipped with a mobile service communications subsystem.
