Trimble introduced a thumbnail-sized, surface-mount, low power module for providing GPS capabilities for next-generation portable handheld, battery-powered applications Trimble announced.

The Copernicus GPS module is a drop-in, receiver that provides position, velocity and time data and is compatible with active or passive antennas.

The receiver is expected to be available in the third quarter through Trimble’s dealer network.
