Alcatel Alenia Space To Demonstrate Emergency Service

Alcatel Alenia Space plans to perform a demonstration March 3 of the first emergency service based on the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), the company announced. The service, which will use mobile phones to guide responders to where they are needed, is intended to make it easier for emergency service teams to locate specific incidents. The Portuguese National Service for Fire and Civil Protection will participate in the demonstration.
