The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) announced Feb. 20 the addition of two new associate members, Alliant Techsystems Inc. (ATK) and Emerging Markets Communications Inc. (EMC), as well as the addition of the DirecTV Group to the organization’s board of directors.

Emerging Markets Communications, Inc. provides global satellite communications, while ATK is a provider of advanced weapon and space systems.

DirecTV previously was an associate member of SIA, and Susan Eid, DirecTV vice president for government affairs, will sit on the SIA board.
