Humax is launching a high-definition (HD) digital satellite set-top-box in the United Kingdom in March, the company announced. The Humax HDCI2000, which will allow viewers to receive free-to-air HD satellite broadcasts and watch these on any HD-ready TV, is expected to retail at around GBP299 ($521.30). The HDCI2000 can receive and decrypt the latest MPEG-4 HD transmissions, as well as display both MPEG-2 HD and standard definition, free-to-air satellite signals.
