Telespazio Civil Protection Satellite Network Goes Live

Emercomsat, a civil protection satellite network built by Telespazio, began operations with the opening of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Telespazio announced. The system provides secure broadband communications and is interoperable with the national fire service network already active in the region.
