Herb Satterlee, the former CEO and chairman of Digitalglobe, has been named CEO of Novariant, which supplies GPS-based positioning products for industrial users, Novariant announced Feb. 14.

“It is an exciting time to be joining Novariant,” Satterlee said in a statement. “Our suite of precision GPS steering systems for tractors, implements and heavy machinery is well positioned to serve the needs of the agriculture and mining communities. The innovative technologies we bring to the market provide significant improvements in cost and efficiency for our customers’ operations.”

Satterlee stepped down as chairman of CEO of imagery satellite operator Digitalglobe in November and was replaced by Jill Smith.
