Intelsat received a pair of multiyear contracts from Connexion by Boeing to support the launch of a new high-speed Internet maritime service, Intelsat announced Feb. 2.

Connexion by Boeing will use Ku-band capacity on Intelsat 705 and 706, which provide coverage across the mid-Atlantic and Indian Ocean regions, to offer maritime vessels mobile information services beginning in the first quarter.

Intelsat already helps provide Connexion by Boeing service coverage across North America, the Northeast Atlantic and North Pacific regions.

The respective values of the deals were not released.
