Digitalglobe announced Jan. 30 that Scott Smith has joined the company as its new COO. Smith will plan and direct all aspects of Digitalglobe’s operational policies, objectives and initiatives, as well as oversee and help to prepare the company’s corporate business processes and systems.

Prior to joining Digitalglobe, Smith served as executive vice president at Space Imaging. Previously, he held various engineering and management positions for Lockheed Missiles & Space Co.
