Eutelsat‘s Hot Bird 7A satellite arrived in Kourou, French Guiana, in preparation for its scheduled Feb. 21 launch aboard an Ariane 5 ECA rocket, Arianespace announced Jan. 20.
Hot Bird 7A, built by Alcatel Space, will carry 38 Ku-band transponders to provide television and radio programming distribution services from its orbital slot at 13 degrees East.
The spacecraft will be part of a dual mission for Arianespace, which also will place the Spainsat satellite into orbit for the Spanish Defense Ministry.
