According to press reports in the United Kingdom, NTL is moving closer to agreeing a deal to takeover Virgin Mobile in a 961 million British pounds ($1.7 billion) deal. NTL competes vigorously against satellite pay-TV operator BSkyB, whose pending acquisition of Easynet will enable it to be much more of a force in the triple-play market and compete against NTL across the board.
